I did this initially, but since the MBR partition type at 0x1C2 is 0圎E, this indicates that its a legacy MBR type for an EFI partitioned disk, I reasoned that this should not be necessary to patch. I also did it without patching the MBR partition types within the Bootcamp-pt.vmdk file. I would like to add that I have also been successful in setting up VB scaffolding over a bootcamp partition containing a 32bit windows 7 installation (32 GB), using the method described above by mpetroo. Has the latest release of Virtual Box made this any easier? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! However I am from an architecture background with only a very modest understanding of computer programming so I would need detailed instructions in order to achieve this!įrom reading the forums it appears people have managed to achieve this but not without difficulty. I have heard that this is possible using Parallels software but I would like to try it with virtual box. I am hoping I can use virtualbox to facilitate access to the physical bootcamp partition I have already installed when I am using the Mac OS for daily use. However I have all my programmes installed on the Bootcamp partition and I would still like to retain the option to boot directly into Bootcamp when I am doing memory and processing power intensive tasks like rendering. ![]() Therefore I am looking into using VirtualBox to run windows. However I am finding it frustrating having to reboot everytime I want to switch between windows and mac operating systems. I am reliant of some windows based drawing and rendering programs so I have partitioned the hard drive and set up Windows 7 with Bootcamp. ![]() I have recently bought my first Mac and I need some help resolving a problem.
